Cresap Street trespassing complaint

April 11th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

On April 10th, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Cresap St residence for a trespassing complaint. The caller advised that a male subject was inside the home and would not leave the property. The subject was also reported to be breaking items inside the home. Once officers arrived on the scene, they observed the male subject exit the home and run toward a parked vehicle. The subject was able to enter the vehicle and start it, attempting to drive away. Officers were able to stop the male at this time and take him into custody. At this time, Tristen Lee Dorsey, 27, of Cumberland MD, was charged with trespassing, destruction of property, and DUI-related charges. He was transported to the Central Booking unit at Allegany County Detention Center. Dorsey was later released on his own recognizance after appearing before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance.

Shortly after his release, the Cumberland Police Department was again called to respond to the Cresap St residence for a disturbance. Once on scene, it was learned that Dorsey had returned to the home and attempted to gain entry. Dorsey then broke a door and a window and fled the scene on foot. He was located a short distance from the home and again taken into custody.  Dorsey was again transported to the Central Booking unit at Allegany County Detention Center. At a second Initial Appearance, Dorsey was held on a temporary commitment.
