Criminal Summons Service

On November 6th, 2022, the Cumberland City Police served a Criminal Summons on Crystal Nicole Rymer, 31, of Cumberland MD. The summons was in reference to an incident that occurred on October 25th at a residence in the 200 Charles St. During that incident, it is alleged that Rymer stole a television from the resident. Rymer was served the summons and released, pending trial in District Court.

On November 6th, 2022, the Cumberland City Police served a Criminal Summons on Leonard Wayne Metzner, 56, of Cumberland MD. The summons was in reference to an incident that occurred on October 14th, 2022, in the 600 block of Fayette St. Cumberland City Police had been called to the location for the report that numerous bronze vases had been stolen or cut from headstones in the cemetery located there. Metzner was developed as a suspect when he attempted to turn in identical items to a local scrap yard. As a result of the investigation, an application of charges was filed on Metzner and a criminal summons issued by the Allegany County District Court. Rymer was served the summons and released, pending trial in District Court. The summons charged Metzner with Theft $1,500 to under $25,000, and 10 counts of Destroying a Funerary Object.
