On Thursday, December 22nd, 2022, the Cumberland City Police responded to a residence in the 100 block of High Lane for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officers contacted the victims and witnesses of the alleged assault. The subjects advised that a verbal altercation broke out inside the home between the residents. During the argument, a victim pulled out a phone in an attempt to record the incident. At that time, Julio Mark Nelson, 42, began to assault other subjects in the home, causing minor injuries to two separate victims. As a result, Nelson was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held on
