On Wednesday, March 29th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police arrested Melvin Glenn Bohrer III, 50, of Cumberland MD. Bohrer was arrested on an active Arrest Warrant issued by the Allegany County District Court. The warrant was in reference to an investigation conducted by the Cumberland Police and Combined Criminal Investigation unit into an alleged sex offense committed by Bohrer in 2022. During the investigation, it was determined that Bohrer had distributed illicit pornographic images to no less than 26 different people without the victims consent. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held on a $5000 bond.
