This past week an Arrest Warrant Initiative was conducted by the Cumberland Police Department’s Safe Streets Program. The Operation Safe Streets Warrant Initiative began Monday, June 3, and concluded Friday, June 7, 2013.
Our goal continues to be making our streets safer through the reduction of backlogged arrest warrants. The Safe Streets Operation sought citizen help in locating and apprehending individuals on open arrest warrants.
For the Stats of “Operation Takedown VII”, the teams made a total of twenty-five (25) individual arrests and served twenty-nine (29) arrest warrants. This is another successful operation resulting from citizen assistance and the hard work by all the officers that participated in this operation.
