On Sunday, May 28, 2023 at approximately 2:43 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business in the 700 block of Park Street for a male subject causing a disturbance. Police arrived on scene and located the male subject who told the responding officer to arrest him. At this time, the male subject was detained and identified as Rason Patterson. Officers contacted the manager of the business who reported that Patterson entered the store, caused a disturbance, and stole merchandise. Patterson left the store and continued causing a disturbance. He then threatened to kill the manager at which time she had to lock the door of the business to prevent Patterson from entering the store again. After further investigation, Patterson was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

CHARGES: Theft less than $100, Disorderly Conduct, Disturb Peace: Hinder Passage, Trespass: Private Property
