On Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 500 block of Essex Place for the report of a burglary. Upon arrival, Officers contacted the owner of the residence, who advised that a male subject entered their home without warning and stole their dog. The owner provided a description of the dog and the name of the suspect, Hawke Anthony Coffman, 35, of Lonaconing, MD. Coffman was able to be located shortly after and taken into custody without incident. The dog was returned to its owner unharmed. Coffman was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance, where he was released on his own recognizance.

CHARGES - Burglary 1st Degree, Burglary 4th Degree.
