On 12-29-2018 at about 0036 hours, Troopers from the Maryland State Police Hagerstown Barrack responded to a two vehicle head on collision in the area of 7318 Sharpsburg Pike Boonsboro, MD. Upon arriving at the scene, preliminary investigation revealed that a 2010 Ford F-150 driven by Shane Michael Hart was moving Northbound on Sharpsburg Pike. Hart’s vehicle crossed into the Southbound lane of Sharpsburg Pike and collided with a 2016 Nissan Altima driven by Donald David Churchey Jr. Donald David Churchey Jr. was transported to Meritus Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased. Suspected at fault driver, Shane Hart was arrested at the scene for suspected alcohol related impairment. Charges pending.
