On July 25th, 2023, The Cumberland Police Department were called to respond to a business in the 400 block of Greene St for the report of individuals acting in a suspicious manner. The caller advised that the subjects were witnessed inside the business rummaging through property that did not belong to them. Once on scene, officers located the suspects seated in a passenger car outside the business. During the course of the investigation, a police K9 was utilized to conduct a free air scan of the vehicle, to which the K9 alerted to the presence of CDS. During a subsequent search of the vehicle and occupants, a .40 caliber pistol was located in the driver’s seat. As a result, Thomas Dillan Westbrook, 28, of Keyser WV, was placed under arrest. At this time, it was also discovered that Westbrook had an active arrest warrant in Worcester Co. MD. For charges of possessing/issuing forged currency. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. He is currently being held without bond.
