On Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a business in the 200 block of Greene St for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival, officers contacted store employees who stated a male subject had been creating a disturbance inside the store and was refusing to leave. Officers then contacted the male and ordered him to leave the property. He was also informed not to return or he would be placed under arrest. A short time later, officers were again called upon to respond to the same business. Upon arrival, officers discovered that the male had returned and had also taken food items, of which he did not pay for. As a result, Jason Donald Kaufman, 40, of Cumberland MD. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner for an Initial Appearance, where he was released on his own recognizance.

CHARGES – Trespassing, Theft less than $100.
