The Pennsylvania House passed only one of four proposed gun-safety bills this past week. Gun-safety advocates say about 1,600 Pennsylvanians die from gun violence each year. Adam Garber of Cease Fire PA explained that House Bill 1859, which did not pass, would have created a protective order focused on preventing death by suicide…
“A thousand Pennsylvanians lose their lives to firearm suicide every year. It’s rarely talked about. It especially impacts rural communities, and this gives a tool to law enforcement and close family members to temporarily remove someone’s access to a firearm, so they can get a break and save their life before it’s too late.”
