Maryland’s Public Service Commission has scheduled A public comment hearing on the gas infrastructure plan filed by Columbia Gas of Maryland. The utility has filed for approval of its 2024-2028 infrastructure development plan that will cost between $17 and $22.4 million a year. A monthly surcharge of $2.00 per residential customer in Western Maryland over a 5-year period is proposed. Locally, a public hearing on the increase is scheduled for Thursday, September 7th at 7pm at the Fairfield Inn on Wineow Street in Cumberland.
