After working on and off in the area, Wes Heinz made the permanent move to the area in 2021. Since then, his work as Director of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad has created one of the top tourist attractions in the state.  He has worked in other areas of the country that have challenges and opportunities, but sees active growth happening in Western Maryland…

   

“One of the reasons I stay here – number one I love my job and I love what I do with the trains. But more importantly, is I just see a continued cycle of opportunity. It’s great to look back and see where you were but it’s even more exciting to look ahead and see what you can be.”
