Juneteenth Celebrations will be taking place throughout the weekend in the Cumberland area.  WCBC’s Kathy Cornwell has more on the events scheduled…

Saturday's events kick off with a Remembrance March, starting at City Hall at 1pm. This is followed by a festival on the Canal Place Grounds that runs till 6pm. Saturday night at L2 on North Mechanic Street is a scholarship drive, beginning at 9pm. Sunday features a Black Fathers Matter Breakfast at the L2 courtyard and a dedication to Jean Beckward at the Pine Avenue playground.  There's also a Gospel Festival and Revival at Souls Won on Virginia Avenue starting at 11am. Juneteenth itself features Black History driving tours, Underground Railroad tours, and Oral History at Emmanuel Episcopal Church.
