On Tuesday morning at approximately 1:00 AM, Deputies of The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on westbound Interstate 68 in the area of Frostburg on a vehicle that was exceeding the speed limit and displayed an equipment violation.
Upon contacting the operator it was discovered that they were in possession of a loaded handgun. The firearm was retrieved without incident to continue the traffic stop safely. While interacting with the operator a probable cause to search the vehicle was established. Deputies located a bag containing approximately 120 grams (4 ounces) of suspected cocaine as well as approximately 1 ounce of marijuana.
The operator, 43 year-old Tuwana Monique McBride of Charleston, WV. was taken into custody and charged with the following:
Possession CDS (Cocaine)
Possession w/Intent to Distribute (Cocaine)
Firearm Possession While Drug Trafficking
CDS Distribution w/Firearm
Firearm Wear, Carry, Transport Loaded Firearm
CDS Transport into State
Possession Marijuana > 10gm
Possession Marijuana w/Intent to Distribute
