Cumberland’s mayor-elect Ray Morriss will be officially sworn into office in ceremonies January 7th- and he tells WCBC News that he plans to hit the ground running. First up will be selecting a candidate from among the 16 applicants to fill the vacant council seat. After that, he says he wants to begin work immediately to establish a better working relationship with Allegany County. While the city and county has seen relations improved recently- it was just over a year ago the Mayor Brian Grim said he believes the county was at war with the city.
