Although he has acknowledged that his campaign for the District 1C seat in the Maryland House of Delegates will force him to spend a great deal of time in Washington County in the year plus- Allegany County Commissioners President Mike McKay said the idea of stepping down from his current position is not an option he has considered. McKay, who had been planning to see a second county term until Delegate Leroy Myers announced his wouldn’t seek re-election to his 1C seat, announced his state candidacy last week.
