Moratorium on Evictions Ends Sunday in Local Counties

The moratorium on evictions comes to an end Sunday- and while the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention issued new, more limited protections for tenants this week- it only affects 14 of Maryland’s 24 jurisdictions. The formula is based on current COVID-19 transmission levels. According to the new eviction protection order, counties with “substantial” levels of COVID-19 transmission are eligible for the extension. Counties with moderate COVID-19 transmission are not covered. Those include: Allegany and Garrett.
