Although talks are ongoing, there has been no real progress in talks between the city of Cumberland and CSX Transportation on the Washington Street Bridge. The city has four bridges in poor condition — Baltimore, Fayette, Cumberland and Washington streets- all but the Baltimore Street structure are apparently owned by CSX. The bridges on Cumberland and Washington streets are currently closed. City Administrator Jeff Rhodes reports that a primary point of contention for CSX is the clearance. Rhodes hopes to be back in touch with CSX in the near future- but to date nothing has materialized…
