On Friday, February 9th, 2024, the Cumberland City Police responded to a residence in the 40 block of N. Centre St for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival on scene, officers could hear an altercation in progress between a man and a woman inside the residence. Officers quickly made entry into the residence and observed a male subject actively assaulting a female. As a result, Brian Ellsworth Johnson, 59, was placed under arrest. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his initial appearance where he was released on a $1500 unsecured bond.
