November is Diabetes Awareness month and Allegany County Commissioners received a presentation on the impact of the disease in Allegany County. 23% of Americans have diabetes but have not been diagnosed according to the CDC, 8 out of 10 people do not realize they have pre-diabetes in America. In Allegany County the percentage of those with diabetes has risen 2% from 2019 to 8,946 citizens.
