Long time Oakland resident Brenda Butscher passed away on May 9th at the age of 82 in Stuart, Florida.  Butscher served as chair of the Garrett County Republican Central Committee for 12 years and was also the executive director of Hospice of Garrett County for 25 years. She served as a county commissioner, chair of the Liquor Control Board and was also a former owner of WMSG/WXIE Radio. Newman Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements for the family.
