Obituary For Adrienne Ottaviani

September 24th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Adrienne L. Ottaviani, 78, was called to be with her Lord and Savior at on Tuesday, September 23. She passed after a long battle with cancer at home with her family at her side. She was born in Denbo, Pennsylvania, on July 7, 1947, to Francisco Saverio Voso and Ruth Ann (Trocano) Voso. The Voso family later moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where she met her husband, Philip. They were married in 1968 and shared their lives for the next 57 years.

Adrienne and her family moved to Cumberland in 1980 when her husband transferred to the area. Adrienne quickly became involved in her community, first as an active member of the PTA and then serving on the Allegany County Board of Education.  At that time, she worked as the marketing and public relations representative for Friends Aware.

She was elected as Allegany County Commissioner and served on the three-member board from 1990 to 1994.  Adrienne was one of only four women who had been elected as an Allegany County commissioner.

Following her years as a county commissioner, Adrienne became the executive director and lobbyist for the Maryland Coal Association. She worked tirelessly for the Maryland Coal Association in both Allegany County and Annapolis.

In 2016, Maryland Comptroller Peter Franchot named Adrienne as his taxpayer outreach specialist at the Cumberland branch office.

While she was busy serving her community and the state of Maryland, Adrienne, with her husband, Phil, followed their dream and opened Ristorante Ottaviani featuring Italian family recipes in downtown Cumberland. Known for her love of cooking and encouraged by her children, Adrienne and Phil opened the restaurant in 2007. The family-run restaurant quickly became a popular place to eat, and where Adrienne was known to many as Mama O and a great hugger. Everyone was family to Adrienne at the restaurant.

While Adrienne was known for her community and state contributions, she was better known for her kindness, compassion, generosity, and love of life. She had the gift of making each person feel special. She was beloved by her family, her friends, and her community. She made friends wherever she went.  She had a very special way of making everyone she met or knew feel like they were the most special person to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Adrienne is survived by her husband, Philip, and three children, Matt and wife, Barbara, Gina Lindelof and husband, Charlie, and Tony and wife, Tanya. She was Grandma to her beloved nine grandchildren, Katie Ottaviani, Lauren Breighner, Roman Ottaviani, Darian King, Sofia Ottaviani, Antonio Ottaviani, Forrest Lindelof, Willow Lindelof, and Avery Lindelof, and three great-grandchildren, Kane Lovin, Lola Lovin, and Julian Lovin.
