On Friday May 12, 2023 at approximately 4:18 p.m. a single motor vehicle crash in the area of Barton Hill on Route 36 was reported to the Allegany County Joint Communications Center. Upon arrival, units found that a passenger vehicle left the roadway and collided with a guardrail and flipped over multiple times.
The driver of the passenger car, 40-year-old Jacob Paul Prock of Westernport, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This matter remains under investigation, and any direct witnesses to the collision that didn’t already give their information to law enforcement at the scene are requested to contact the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office or Cumberland City Police Crash Teams at 301-777-5959 or 301-777-1600.
