The Baltimore Orioles have reportedly sold for $1.725 billion, according to a report. Carlyle Group co-founder David Rubenstein, a Baltimore native, reached the agreement and will take over as the team's controlling owner. The Angelos family has been in control of the franchise since 1993, when Peter Angelos purchased the team for $173 million. The team recently reached a deal on a new lease extension at Camden Yards for 30 years. Orioles legend Cal Ripken Jr. is also part of that new group.
