State School Board to Review Mask Mandate

Cumberland water crews were called to the area of Seton Drive and Braddock Road for what was descibed as multiple water main breaks. The initial call was reported by the Allegany County Joint Communications Center at 5:05 PM.

Hogan: 99% of Seniors Have Had At Least One Shot

City Woman Charged With Columbia Street Burglary
On November 13th, 2021 officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 200 block of Columbia Street for a reported breaking and entering. Upon officer’s arrival they spoke with the victim who advised that no one had permission to be inside the residence. Officers then checked the residence and located a female suspect who they later discovered had provided a false name. The officers continued their investigation, and identified the female suspect as Jessica Ann Hamilton. Police make Assault, DUI Arrests
On Friday officers of the Cumberland Police Department, and C3I responded to the 200 block of Baltimore Avenue for a reported stabbing. While officers responded they were notified that Rahmier Hussan Chase had identified himself as the suspect who had stabbed someone. Upon officer’s arrival they observed the victim laying on the ground with an obvious injury, and rendered first aid. The victim advised officers that Rahmier Hussan Chase had stabbed them. Controlled Burn Planned for Dan’s Mountain Wildlife Management Area
The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) will conduct a controlled burn on Dan’s Mountain Wildlife Management Area between now and November 22 as weather and other conditions allow. Residents or drivers who see smoke in the area southwest of Rawlings should be aware that it may appear to be a forest fire, but is deliberate and controlled and there is no need to report it to authorities. The fire will create smoke but it will be a controlled flame targeting underbrush and ground cover debris.
