Justice Admonishes Younger WV Residents for Vaccination Complacency

West Virginia Governor Jim Justice on Friday said the state’s situation related to COVID-19 vaccinations has become stagnant. During his regular briefing, Justice said what while the state has plenty of vaccine supplies on hand, not enough people coming to get shots with some counties asking the state not to send more first doses. Chessie/Kelco Merger to be Finalized Next Week

The Chessie Federal Credit Union’s merger with Kelco Federal Credit Union is expected to be completed and official May 3rd.  The merger is among several new happenings at Chessie, including the selection in January of longtime employee Scott Kline as CEO and president- replacing Richard “Doc” Daugherty  who has retired. Chessie’s latest expansion began with the acquisition of Al-Gar Federal Credit Union in August 2020, which added 3,000 new members. Al-Gar had a branch on Paca Street and one on Bishop Murphy Drive in Frostburg. The acquisition of Kelco at 321 Greene St. is expected to be completed early next month….

Police Make Theft, Assault Arrests

On Saturday the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Dustin Wayne Youngblood charging him with theft.  The summons was issued by District Court in reference to a complaint filed with the Commissioner’s Office alleging that on April 20th, 2021 he stole PS4 equipment from the complainant’s residence located on Michigan Avenue.  Youngblood signed and received copies of the charging documents and was released pending trial.   Dustin Wayne Youngblood, age; 29, Cumberland, Maryland. Maryland Department of Health Supports Reintroduction of Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 Vaccine

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have lifted the pause on the use of the Johnson & Johnson (Janssen) COVID-19 vaccine. Cumberland Man Arrested on Identity Theft, Fraud Charges

On Friday  the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Tyson Thomas Ross charging him with fraud and identity theft.  The summons was issued by District Court in reference to an incident report to police back on April 6th, 2021 that Tyson was observed on video surveillance using the complainant’s credit card to withdraw cash from several different ATMs in Cumberland, Maryland.  He signed and received copies of the charging documents and was released pending trial at District Court.   Tyson Thomas Ross, age; 33, Cumberland, Maryland.

A group of more than 25 governors, U.S. senators, and leaders of the U.S. House Problem Solvers Caucus convened in Annapolis to discuss ideas, initiatives, and proposals for a federal infrastructure and public investment package. 800 COVID-19 vaccine doses compromised at Fort Meade

Roughly 80 vials of the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine were “improperly handled” outside their recommended temperature range at Fort Meade in Maryland, compromising about 800 doses, the Army said. The discovery was made last Monday by Kimbrough Ambulatory Care Center. The affected doses were administered on April 7 and April 12 at Fort Meade’s McGill Training Center. The Army said in a statement that there is “no risk for potential harm” for those who got the compromised shots, but that it’s uncertain whether those doses will offer the protection they’re expected to, so those who got the shots are being offered a repeat…

Drug Take-Back Day in Frostburg

The Frostburg City Police Department will be collecting unwanted medications on Saturday, April 24, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. in front of the Frostburg Elks. This event will take place during the Frostburg Arts Walk and is in partnership with the Frostburg Elks
