A high-speed system in which a capsule travels through an enclosed tube at nearly 700 mph- and it will locate in West Virginia. Pollster Discusses Trump’s Status Among Maryland Voters

According to a new Goucher College poll released this week, former Vice President Joe Biden and Senator Kamala Harris are set to carry Maryland by the largest margin in any presidential election since 1964.  The poll conducted from Sept. 30 to Sunday found that 61% of likely voters said they would vote for Biden, while 30% said they would vote for President Donald Trump. Mineral County fire leaves one injured

The New Creek Fire Department reports that one person was injured and taken to Potomac Valley Hospital early Wednesday evening as the result of a structure fire on E&R Path off Hooker Hollow Road,. The fire, which was reported at 7:33 p.m., was contained to one room, but heat and smoke damage occurred throughout the upper level of the two-story residence. Election officials set timetable for vote counting

The Maryland State Board of Elections on Thursday laid out the ballot counting schedule ahead of Election Day. WBAL reports that though ballots being returned have been counted since Oct. 1., results of mail-in ballots and early voting will be embargoed until after vote centers close at 8 p.m. on Nov. 3. In the hours that follow, results from in-person Election Day voting will be released. Officials stressed that because many voters this year are voting by mail-in ballot, a complete count of voters will not be available on the night of the election. West Virginia Chosen as Site for Hyperloop R&D Center in Grant County Area

West Virginia Governor Jim Justice on Wednesday announced the state will be the site of a $500 million development center for high-speed pod-and-tube transportation, after Virgin Hyperloop agreed to locate a certification facility on nearly 800 acres of land across Grant and Tucker counties. A hyperloop system, which is still in the developmental stage, has been touted by company owner Sir Richard Branson as a way to connect cities by utilizing transportation pods inside sealed tubes moving at speeds of 600 miles an hour or faster. Maryland casinos saw an increase in revenue in September

Casinos in Maryland are seeing an increase in revenue for the first time since the coronavirus pandemic shut their doors for three months. The Baltimore Sun reported  that the casinos brought in more than $1.4 million during this past September than they did during the same month last year. The Maryland Lottery and Gaming Commission said the state’s six casinos made a combined $143,709,268 in September 2020 compared with $142,223,137 in 2019. Attorney General Frosh Announces Legal Services to Residents Facing Eviction and Homelessness

Maryland Attorney General Brian E.
