BENCH WARRANTS SERVED

On Monday, July 1, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a bench warrant on Jeron Milton.  The warrant was issued as the result of Milton failing to appear in court. He was originally charged with driving without a license.  Milton was arrested and transported to Central Booking.  He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond. Route 220 Fatal motor vehicle crash

Fatal motor vehicle crash just before 8 p.m. closed a sections of Route 220 for response and investigation near American Woodmark Monday night. Emergency crews responding to a two vehicle crush with possible entrapment. Route 220 re-opened at 11:59p.m.  

Cumberland Police Seeking Information on Shooting

On June 30, 2024, at 1:44 AM, the Cumberland Police Department and Cumberland Fire Department responded to a report of an injured woman in the area of West Oldtown Road. Upon investigation, it was discovered that the victim, 38-year-old Celina Smith of Cumberland, had been shot. Ms. Smith was transported to UPMC, where she is currently receiving treatment. Investigators believe that Ms. Smith encountered a person at approximately 1:15 AM near the intersection of West Oldtown Road and Glenwood Street. WV Reminds Families Of Well-Child Visits

The West Virginia Department of Health is encouraging families to keep their children up to date on their Well Child Visits.  These health checks, utilizing statewide services offered by Birth to Three promote regular medical care and facilitate the diagnosis and treatment of any health problems found during a screening,. Screenings can include lab tests; vision, hearing and developmental screenings; physical exams; immunizations; oral health screenings and more.  Visits can begin as early as one week after birth and occur regularly up until the age of 21.

Wednesday, June 26, 2024 Dillen Allen Smith, 30 of Flintstone, was arrested and served two (2) District Court Bench Warrant for Violation of Probation. His original convictions include: Driving Motor Vehicle on Highway Without Required License and Authorization and Theft: Less than $100. Smith was sentenced to a 1-year jail term with 11-months and 28-days suspended and 3-years unsupervised probation in the traffic case and given a probation before judgement disposition in the Theft case with a 30-day suspended sentence and 12-months supervised probation. Tuesday, June 25, 2024 Rachael Nicole Dolly, 35 of Cresaptown, was arrested and charged as a Fugitive of Justice for a warrant out of Mineral County, WV for Driving on a Suspended License, Traffic-Striking Fixtures on Highway, Possession of CDS without a Valid Prescription, and Driving Uninsured. She is being held without bond pending extradition. Mary Virginia Welch, 32 of Frostburg, was arrested on a Circuit Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Comply.
