MVA Adds Maryland ID For Samsung Wallet
Maryland’s Motor Vehicle Administration is adding Maryland Mobil ID in Samsung Wallet along with Apple and Google Wallet. Marylanders may now add their driver’s licenses or ID card to Samsung Wallet to present at select Transportation Security Administration airport pre-checks. These checkpoint include Baltimore/Washington International Airport, Thurgood Marshal Airport, and Ronald Reagan National Airport. The MVA notes that the mobile ID should not replace carrying a physical license or ID.

Help Your Car Survive The Summer
AAA is reminding motorists that high temperatures can take their toll on not only people and animals, but vehicles too. Last summer in Maryland alone, AAA emergency roadside service crews resoinded to nearly 164,000 calls. An analysis of AAA roadside data shows that vehicles 10 years and older are twice as likely to end up stranded compared to newer vehicles. AAA suggests frequently checking car batteries, coolant, tires, fluids, and air conditioning to stay safe on summer trips.

City Hall will remain closed to the public, with plans to reopen on Monday, July 15, due to construction delays in the building. Staff will continue serving our residents through this extended closure, with Tax and Utility and Parking remaining in the Willetts Building at 446 N. Mechanic Street. Human Resources continues serving from the third floor of the Public Safety Building while other staff members may be reached through email or their direct phone lines. WV Attorney General Sets Area Representative Visits
Attorney General Patrick Morrisey will have a representative from his office to meet with regional West Virginia residents in July to discuss consumer-related issues and answer questions. The representative will have meetings at Romney Senior Center on July 10 from 11:30am to 12:30pm and at the County Commission Meeting Room in Keyser on July 15 from 11am to Noon.
West Virginia Clothing Allowance Program
The West Virginia Department of Human Services is now accepting clothing allowance applications. Eligible children will receive a $200 electronic benefit transfer card instead of a voucher this year. The EBT will work like a debit card, allowing online purchases and increased choice for school appropriate clothing or materials. Families can apply online at wvpath.wv.gov or through their local Human Services office before July 31.

Victims Identified in Route 220 Crash-Update
Upon arrival, Deputies located two vehicles with both drivers trapped inside. The male individual was identified as Zachary Micheal Robinson, 35, of Rawlings, Maryland and the female was identified as Laura Michelle Wilson, 41, of Rawlings, Maryland. Though life saving efforts were attempted by both law enforcement and emergency personnel, both Robinson, and Wilson succumbed to their injuries sustained in the collision. The collision investigation was transferred from the initial responding deputies, to members of the Allegany County Sheriff’s Crash Team.
