On Thursday, May 30, 2024 at approximately 7:11 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 900 block of Hilltop Drive for an assault in progress. Responding officers were advised by dispatch that the suspects had fled on foot. Police contacted the victim who reported that she had been robbed of her purse at knife point by a male and a female. The suspects were developed and identified as William Mosher III and Ashley Grove. Mosher and Grove were located in the area and detained. The stolen purse was also located in the area and recovered. After further investigation, Mosher and Grove were arrested and transported to Central Booking. Mosher is currently being held at the Allegany County Detention Center awaiting his bond hearing. Grove was seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.
