Rolling Mill project finally showing progress

Construction at the Cumberland Gateway commercial center on Park Street has been making slow, but steady progress this year, with the developer eyeing businesses opening as early as next spring. With one building already up and others soon to follow- it is clear that the long awaited Rolling Mill commercial complex development is finally showing real signs of coming to fruition- perhaps the best demonstration of progress was the recent purchase of 225 Emily Street.  Larry and Debbie Darby who reside there- for years have draped a large canvas banner that reads “Still Not For Sale” on the front of the home. The developer recently closed that sale, and now just a few scattered properties remain to be purchased. Cumberland Economic Development Corporation executive director Matt Miller says that the belief of the CEDC and Developer Ed Scott has always been that once actual construction began- many of those property owner would reconsider…
