Shade Calls Gov. Hogans Position On Fracking Disappointing

Allegany County Commissioners President Jake Shade says he hopes Governor Larry Hogan is a man of his word when it comes to committing to Western Maryland. The governor surprised, and disappointed most local elected officials last week when he said he would support a permanent ban on fracking. The District 1 delegation and the County Commissioners were strong advocates of fracking, hoping that the industry would create a much needed revenue stream for the region.  After rejecting fracking, Hogan committed to pushing for other initiatives designed to help the struggling economies and Allegany and Garrett counties. Commissioner Shade said the governor’s position on fracking was disappointing…
