On December 8th Officers from the Cumberland Police Department (CPD) conducted a traffic stop in the teen block area on South Street. The traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle displaying expired registration. A CPD K9 was called to the scene which led to further investigation. Chelsea Erin Thomas was found to be in with possession of control dangerous substance. Chelsea Erin Thomas was transported to CPD headquarters where she was charged and written one Maryland Uniform Criminal Citation and one Maryland Traffic Citation before being released.
Kevin Shipe was the passenger and arrested on scene. He was taken to Allegany County Detention Center to await his initial appearance in front of the District Court Commissioner. Kevin Shipe was charged with possession of control dangerous substance, possession with intent to distribute and paraphernalia.
Arrest: Kevin Shipe, age 37 from Frostburg MD
Charges: Possession of Control Dangerous Substance (crack cocaine), Possession with Intent to Distribute (crack cocaine) and Paraphernalia
Arrest: Chelsea Erin Thomas, age 38 from Ridgeley WV
Charges: Possession of Control Dangerous Substance
