On Saturday, October 26, 2025, at approximately 8:11 PM, deputies from the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on Mount Savage Road near Ellerslie Road. The operator of the vehicle, identified as Chandler Broadwater of Wilkinson, Indiana, failed to yield to deputies and fled from law enforcement. Deputies pursued the vehicle, which ultimately resulted in Broadwater’s apprehension. Further investigation at the scene revealed that the vehicle had been recently stolen from UPMC Hospital in Cumberland, Maryland, several hours prior to the arrest. No injuries were sustained by the suspect, the public, or law enforcement personnel during this incident. Additionally, no traffic collisions occurred during the pursuit or subsequent investigation.

Broadwater was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center, where he is currently being held on the following charges:
- Theft of Motor Vehicle
-Rogue & Vagabond
-Unauthorized Removal of Motor Vehicle
-Theft $1,500 to under $25,000
-Motor Vehicle Unlawful Taking
-Obstructing & Hindering
-Fleeing and Eluding Law Enforcement
-Multiple additional traffic charges
