A suspect has been arrested in the Friday shooting death of a West Virginia State police officer. Timothy Kennedy, 29, of Beech Creek, WV was taken into custody Friday night as the primary suspect in the death of Sgt. Cory Maynard of the West Virginia State police. The shooting took place on Friday afternoon in Mingo County, West Virginia, and Kennedy remained at large through the day, causing lockdowns nearby and the postponement of the Mingo Central High School graduation ceremony Friday evening.
