Maryland’s Tax Free week continues through Saturday, August 16. Families shopping for back to school items will be able to avoid the state’s 6% sales tax on the purchase of clothing and shoes as well as a portion of backpack purchases.  The annual Maryland tax holiday comes at a cost for the state – up to $9 million dollars in tax collections.  The tax savings does not apply to computers, phones, or other electronic devices.
