Allegany County Health Department’s Tobacco and Chronic Disease program has grant funds available for community organizations to develop tobacco cessation education activities. A total of $15,000 in funding is available. About 10% of Marylanders are smokers while 3.6% of high school students say they smoke. Vaping or e-cigarette use among highschoolers is almost 15%, according to the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids. Contact the health department for more information.
