On Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at approximately 12:57 AM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle traveling on W. First Street and identified the operator as Thomas Scott. The officer learned that Scott had an active bench warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued as the result of Scott failing to appear for court on June 5, 2023. He was originally charged with driving without a license. Scott was arrested and transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on his personal recognizance.
