Four locations of UPMC have earned national recognition for Excellence in Stroke Care.  Three Pennsylvania locations – Altoona, Bedford and Somerset – received “Get With The Guidelines” Stroke awards. UPMC Western Maryland received a Gold Plus award as well as being named to the Target Stroke Honor Roll and the Target Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll. For Gold Plus Status, hospitals must reach 85% compliance across numerous quality measures for at least 24 consecutive months.
