The Cumberland Times News reports a Kitzmiller woman was injured Thursday when her vehicle traveled out of control on Maryland Highway near Kitzmiller Road, according to the Garrett County Sheriff's Office. Susan L. Whitacre, 46, was taken to the Garrett Regional Medical Center by Southern Rescue Squad following the 9 a.m. crash. No information was available concerning her injuries and medical condition. Police said Whitacre was operating an unspecified vehicle northbound on Kitzmiller Road when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a large rock and telephone pole. Upon impact, the vehicle rolled over repeatedly before it came to rest on its roof.
Speed factored in the mishap, police said.
Kitzmiller Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
