Community volunteers will be participating in a national emergency communications exercise this weekend. Amateur radio operators trained in emergency communications assist their local communities when disaster strikes such as severe weather, earthquakes are man-made disasters. Amateur Radio Field Day, a National Emergency exercise will take place Saturday, June 24th beginning at 2PM and running for 24 hours at 599 Georges Creek Blvd, formally the old LaVale swimming pool.
