Allegany County residents are struggling to make ends meet according to the most up-to-date report from United For ALICE – an organization that tracks hardship across the country.  Currently in Allegany County, 49% of households are under the ALICE survival budget.  ALICE is an acronym for Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed – people who fall into this category are working, often more than one job, but cannot afford basic necessities.  The County United Way uses the ALICE report to help determine some of their programs and assistance efforts.  Michele Walker, CUW Executive Director, said that helping families with the most basic needs is a major focus…
