WCBC radio celebrating it's 46th birthday today. The station originally went on the air 1953 is WKYR. It currently transmits at 5,000 watts daytime and 1,000 Watts night pattern on 1270kHz and a translator at 107.1 FM. Beginning in 1976 the long-running Dave Norman program hit the airwaves along with ABC News in Westwood One affiliates. The station continues to serve the community today with its local and regional news coverage as well as its Sports coverage of local Little League games, high school, college football and basketball and national football. WCBC, the Cumberland Broadcasting company celebrating 46 years of service.
