West Virginia Cracks Down On Left-Lane Drivers

March 8th, 2024 by WCBC Radio

One of the more interesting bills in the West Virginia General Assembly this year has been HB5237 that would prohibit drivers from “hanging out” in the left or passing lane of a highway.  Such drivers often impede traffic flow and can create a safety hazard. There are exceptions, such as when passing another vehicle, left turn exits, or construction in the right lane.  The bill has passed in both chambers with amendments.
