Eleven West Virginia counties now have a way for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault to access courts virtually without encountering their assailant. The Remote Victim Outreach Program has been adopted by the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals to provide victims with a way to request vital protection orders in a safe manner. “They don’t want to come into that courtroom and be side by side with someone that they’re having a bad relationship with. And in an effort to make sure that we could provide that kind of access, where they felt safe and secure, this is how this program kind of rolled out.”
