Wind turbines could be surrounding Maryland from the mountains to the coast in the near future. At a public meeting this past week in Ocean City, residents and stakeholders heard from the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management about the preliminary impact of planned windfarms off the Maryland and Delaware coast. Up to 121 wind turbines are planned along the coast, 10-15 miles offshore of Ocean City, the Delaware Bay and the Chesapeake Bay.
