Garrett Co. Continues To Suffer Lingering Effects From Hurricane Sandy

Garrett County continues to suffer some of the worst lingering effects of Sandy where most of the local roads are impassable and nearly eight in 10 people lost power when a blizzard dumped more than two feet of snow last week. Governor Martin O'Malley spent the day with residents and emergency management officials in Garrett County last Thursday. At its height more than 17,000 were without power and a week later there are still some areas that have not been restored. Garrett County Commissioner Jim Raley, who also serves as a volunteer fireman, said he cannot recall a storm of this magnitude…
