A man who had been ordered to the Western Maryland Health System for a psychological evaluation walked away without checking in and was last seen running into a wooded area near the hospital. He has been described as being extremely dangerous. As a result of the walk away which occured around 1:40, three city schools were placed in "lock-in" status. School Superintendent Dr David Cox confirmed to WCBC News that those schools impacted were Fort Hill High, Washington Middle and South Penn Elementary. The man was still at large as of late Thursday afternoon.
