Although saying last week that “time was of the essence” to negotiate a payment in lieu of taxes deal that could mean the award of a long-delayed slots license for Rocky Gap- the Allegany County Commissioners announced another delay during last night’s business meeting. During last week’s meeting, County Administrator David Eberly indicated that the agreement could be formalized as early as yesterday’s business meeting- noting that there was still some “verbiage” being worked out. However, last night’s meeting wrapped up with no deal- with Eberly noting that the principals involved simply could not get together to finalize the details in the past week…
